If I was a passenger in the vehicle that night, I would have made sure everyone had their seat belt on. I also would’ve told the driver to slow down because she was driving at a very dangerous speed. I think this accident could have been avoided under the following circumstances: the girls were traveling at a slower speed, all the passengers had their seat belts on, they were traveling at a different time of the day (afternoon instead of early in the morning) and/or the girls were more responsible. If I was the driver of the vehicle, I would live every day of my life suffering because of guilt. I would never be able to forgive myself for the pain that my lack of responsibility caused. I think the punishment was a good punishment for the girl because living with the guilt of what she did would also be a terrible punishment.

If I was a passenger in the car that night, I would have told the driver to slow down.  The accident could have been avoided in many ways, such as not going out to eat in the first place, not going out t-ping or just not driving so fast to jump the hills.  I couldn’t imagine exactly how the driver would feel, but I’m sure the feeling of having 3 deaths on your hand is pretty horrific.  I feel like since the driver was influenced by everyone in the car, the punishment was fair.
